In first grade our focus is the family and citizenship. There are important concepts that children will learn for each topic.
Family Concepts:
1. Recognizes that there are nations with different family
traditions and practices.
2. Uses maps to discuss types of clothing , housing, and food to obtain information about other families of the world.
3. Demonstrates an understanding of the similarities and differences between families now and in the past, including daily life today and in other times.
Citizenship Concept:
1. Can identify and practice classroom and school student rights and responsibilities.
